Dark Souls is available on both Xbox 360 and PS3 and is a frustrating and challenging game that is not for the weak.ВP A comment I told someone when he got this game was its a love and hate type of games, but with the variety of weapons and armor. Plus the challenging huge bosses and a variety of enemies that is bigger then Demon Souls I have enjoyed this game greatly. So if you have played Demon Souls, Dark Souls is the next game you would have a real challenge with.

The world in Dark Souls has been revamped from its predecessor by making it into an open world environment. With a huge world environment and massive dungeons with beautifully rendered graphics.ВP Multiplayer returns with summoning or being summoned for assistance and also invading as a black phantom to kill the other player. The enemy difficulty has been increased incredibly from demon souls which will cause even more frustration to any player, but is very rewarding once you get the hang of the enemies. Dark Souls include a wide variety of weapons, armors, and shield which can be upgraded depending on the players preferences.

The gameplay has been tweaked slightly compared to Demon SoulsВP such as no more magic meter in Dark Souls. Instead magic usage is predetermined by a number of uses instead of a magic meter cost. Also instead of healing with moon leaves in Dark Souls you are given an estus flask for regaining health. The flasks have a number usage and recharge when you either dies or is camping at a save point, and the estus flasks can also be increased by potency and number of usage. The faith skills and magic skills return and an addition skill set called pyromancy is introduced to Dark Souls for fans of fire magic.

Dark Souls is about a protagonist that’s either male or female who is undead and is trying to escape a place called the Undead Asylum.ВP Then you have to defeat the lords of fire Seathe the Scaleless, the Four Kings, the Bed of Chaos, Gravelord Nito, and Gwen Lord of Cinders. Since they were originally the protectors of the land but at one point the lords of fire became tainted with darkness and ended up turning evil. This is just a base plot since in Dark Souls the story is purposely filled with interpretation and is never fully explained on purpose. The rest of the story is put together through the players own actions and choices so the end can be different based on certain choices and actions made.

The spiritual follow-up to Demon Souls has been out for a while now, and just like its predecessor (demon Souls) Dark Souls arrives with an extremely high setting of difficulty. Plus the same absurdly damaging bosses and having your characters death only be the beginning of the true gameplay of Dark Souls, and this is just the first 5 minutes or so of gameplay.
